The second aspect of The Trade Union: The Worker's Enemy is Why there are insistent Strikes by Public Sector trade unions.
The summary of why there are unending strikes by public sector trade unions is Attitudinal Restructuring. There are two sides to it.
Firstly, Trade Unions make bogus demands based on nothing. For example, the current Resident Doctors demand 200% salary increase and the NLC N200,000 monthly minimum wage. Another is Unions sit to negotiate with people without authority to make decisions.
Secondly, The public sector management that meets the unions knows that they have no mandate to give anything. They equally know that whatever agreement is reached will not be implemented. For public sector management, collective bargaining is just politics without accountability.
The question is, what is the way out of this unhealthy industrial relations situation? Next week, the most simple ways out that have been ignored.
