SALARY INCREMENT 3

Other means by which I got my salary increased were annual merit increment and collective agreement. There was this company I worked that increases salary at confirmation of appointment which was usually a minimum of 5% on basic salary. At the end of annual performance appraisal, salaries were usually increased by between 2.5% - 10%. In the same company which was a Unionized environment, there was usually salary increment based on Collective Agreement between the National Union and the Employers Federation. In effect, in some Unionized companies I worked, my salary was increased by Confirmation of appointment, annual merit and collective agreement increments.

SALARY INCREMENT 2

This week, I share with you two salary increment experiences. Firstly: Job Hopping - By job hopping, I increase my salary from a mere monthly salary of N605 to about N1m as at the time I was leaving paid employment. Each time I changed employment, my salary went up. Secondly, Management Magnanimity: my experience in four different companies are as follows-: First company- In preparing a new salary structure, management added the thirteenth month salary to all staff basic salaries and a further 8.5% increase to all staff basic salaries. Secondly, within 18 months in another company, my salary got increase by 80%. Thirdly & Fourthly, I was able to convince management by salary survey to increase staff salaries by 100%. This is a clear case of employee advocacy by the HR Function.

SALARY INCREMENT 1

What is a salary? Salary is the bribe given to a worker by the Employer to continue to slave for him. Why call salary a bribe? Because no company spends more than 10% on staff emolument. Those who have capacity can confirm this from their companies annual statement of accounts. Different sources of salary increment amongst others include the following:- - Annual merit increase. - National minimum wage. - Collective Agreement. - Management Magnanimity. - Cost of living Index. In the next two weeks, we shall share our experiences.

INTEGRITY & TRUST 11

To kill corruption completely from Nigeria, STOP swearing-in these people with the Bible or the Quran. WHY? Because they have no conscience. Swear them In by Sango, Amadioha, Ogudugu, Iyebiri etc, etc because they have abused the mercy of God.
