JOB INTERVIEW 6

When you attend interviews, you must only answer questions you are asked. Any attempt to answer more than you are asked makes you a Talkative.

The statements you make may land or cost you the job.

Below are some statements which I made that landed or cost me jobs.

They are:-

- Company rules and regulations must apply to all employees.

- While there are exceptions to the rule, the exceptions must not be allowed to become the rule.

- I cannot stand an employer whose monthly salary cycle is more than 30 days.

- Annual vacation is not negotiable if the managing director could proceed on vacation.

- Two years consecutive advance performance rating must lead to separation Procedure.

- There is a big difference between a half full cup and a half empty cup.

- I do not want big money that will take away my sleep.

- In five years, I wish to be one of the directors of the company.

- When you oppress your staff, you pay back in terms of reduced ROI and commitment.

- Integrity of employees is directly proportional to the employer's integrity.

- You cannot give what you do not have.

- Salary paid to staff is a small fraction of their output.

- I cannot stay in the office beyond closing time simply because my boss has not closed. No room for eye service.

HR MISTAKES BY YOURS TRULY 6

My refusal to accept two direct instructions from two gentlemen who were instrumental to my employment in two companies where I enjoyed working, cost yours truly those jobs because I considered those instructions as unreasonable. Firstly, I was asked to provide information that would lead to the termination of the employment of five high performing managers. My response was to send my boss a local ICBM to the effect that "a man who circumcises woman do not talk". If the man talks, he will die of hunger. Secondly, I was asked to tell half truths by my boss, which I considered to be telling lies and I refused. My boss explained further to yours truly, that what he was saying was for yours truly to play politics because politics is about half truths. He stated further that should yours truly continue to insist on the truth only, he would join others in fighting yours truly. My response to him was "you're welcome. Within five weeks of this discussion, your truly was tra...
