Now that it is apparent that the ASUU strike shall be suspended in a few days, there is a need to make some pervasive statements as regards this unfortunate SAGA.
Firstly, the Federal Government forgot to realize that she is not only an employer but also a Regulator.
Secondly, the Federal Ministry of Employment civil servants either failed to advise the Minister or he refused to accept the correct position of things as regards the proper procedure in trade disputes settlement in Nigeria by law.
Thirdly, ASUU made the mistake of negotiating with the wrong parties.
Fourthly, the professional body saddled with the responsibility for regulating Personnel practice as always maintained a golden silence.
Finally, it is hoped that all parties would have learnt something against tomorrow especially ignored resources.
Insightful thoughts. I hope that the parties will see this, reflect on the whole situation, and pick a lesson or two for the future. #HRwithEM
