There was a manufacturing company I worked with, with the bad practice of supervisors demanding for gratification in the form of cash before employment.
This terrible practice came to the fore when the list of candidates I invited for interview was substituted with the list of those who have paid the standard money for employment.
When I returned from my trip to the Group Head Office and was briefed by the Assistant Personnel Manager, I cancelled the interview conducted in my absence.
I was actually looking for Trainee Spinners, boys who attended Technical Schools.
This my action put paid to the practice of money for employment in the compamy.
