Integrity means doing what you say. For a majority of HR Practitioners in my clime call this Rigidity and for them, Practitioners must be flexible. For me, that is speaking from from both ends of their mouths.
My challenge/problem is that when we reach an agreement, the other party cannot change it by fiat.
In a place I worked, we agreed a certain amount of money as out-of-station allowance for junior staff. The first set of junior staff who travelled with the Managing Director, he refused to pay claiming that they slept in his premises without feeding. My recommendation that they be paid 50% of the allowance was termed as organizing a trade union.
The Managing Director decided consequently to disband the HR Department. What happens to Covenant breakers has happened to that company.
