As promised, I hereby share chronologically my relationship with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) without dates to avoid unnecessary controversies.
I joined the Institute in 1992 as a Graduate member.
I became an Ex- official member of the Rivers State Branch Executive.
Next I joined the all powerful Apapa Personnel Practitioners Consultative Association(PPCA). In the process of time I was elected as her Vice Chairman.
When I left Apapa, I was elected as Ex- official member of the Abia State Branch Executive of the Institute. While in Abia State Branch, I was appointed Chairman of the Eastern Regional Conference of the Institute.
After Abia State Branch, I was elected Treasurer of Oshodi-Isolo PPCA, now Lagos Mainland.
Next I was elected Chairman of Ikeja PPCA Study Centre management committee. The same year Ikeja PPCA nominated me to join the Institute's Education Committee. Interestingly, it was that committee that recommended to Council to abolish "Project" in the award of the Institute's diploma.
Finally, I joined the Alimosho PPCA.
I must confess that I miss Apapa PPCA because of her strong interest in Industrial Relations. It was a great delight when it came to Industrial Relations Reports/Labour News during our monthly meetings.
