A staff closed from work an hour to official closing time and the manager recommended one week suspension without pay and if there should be a repeat, his appointment be terminated.
As the officer incharge of staff discipline, I pleaded with the manager that the punishment was excessive and advised that he cut two hours off the staff pay.
When the manager refused, I suggested final warning which the he rejected.
My final ruling was that nothing should happen to the staff.
