INFALLIBLE? 203

Looking for the unforgivable Mistake Nigerians made that has landed us in the present Jagbajantis situation we find ourselves? Stop looking, it is refusal of Nigerians to let the only Hands-on president, General Chief Matthew Okikiola Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo, go for Third Term and perhaps rule till date.

CHANGING JOBS: MORE THAN PAY

I am an Apostle and an Advocate of Job Hopping for salary increase and promotion. This position is as a result of my experience with the national malady of my country - NEPOTISM. No Nigerian wanted to employ yours truly. Almost all the places I worked, it was at the insistence of foreigners. Let me put on record here again, that the main purpose of this Blog is not to quote works of foreigners but to share my experiences in the 25 years I did 8.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. work after post-graduate school. Several people I worked with Except my direct bosses called yours truly STUBBORN. I accept I was and still stubborn, but until you come to the knowledge of the content/components of my being termed stubborn, you would have gone on a wild goose chase. The components of my stubbornness are my major shortcomings and more of the reasons I change jobs frequently to the extent that in 25 years, I accepted 11 jobs offers and actually resumed work. For the purpose of salary Wahala I am concluding...

MY CONSIDERATION EXPERIENCE 2

Last week I shared with you, our Consideration Experience with four Public Limited Companies. One thing that stood out was the availability of the option of salary negotiation, it was clear from the point of joining salary that they paid higher than those without that option. Let me start today by sharing my point of joining salary with Private Limited Companies, usually called One- Man Business. 1. N651,000 p.a. 2. N2,353,000 p a. 3. N1,015,000 p.a. 4. N5,200,000 p.a. The conclusion that could be drawn from the analysis of last week is that Nos. 1&3 operated the "Take it or leave it" salary policy, while Nos. 2 &4 gave ample room for salary negotiation. In order not to distort salary figures at the time of entry, I have left out the cost of the official vehicles and the attendant running costs. The reason for this is not unconnected with the absence of official car with No. 1 &3. However, one thing that was common to all four companies was the absence of HR Poli...

MY CONSIDERATION EXPERIENCE 1

Why salary matter again? It is salary matter again because I see so many people slaving away their lives by receiving peanuts because they fear to look out of their present slave camps called employment. Let me share with you my salaries at the point of joining four Public Limited Companies (Plc) 1. N14,010 p.a. 2. N313,700 p.a. 3. N234,304 p.a. 4. N6,043,480 p.a. All four companies could be group into two by Ownership and Management. Another way, you could group them into two is by the salaries they paid. What appeared common to all was their manufacturing businesses. The major difference between all companies based on industrial location, is the availability of avenue for salary negotiation. While numbers 1 and 3 did not give room for salary negotiation, numbers 2 and 4 gave ample room for salary negotiation. The question then is, why did you take the number 1 job? I went to the school of experience. I hereby fail to provide the salaries at the point of leaving these companies t...
